CLASS INFORMATION - Barefoot Studios
Released on Sun 11th Mar 2007
Bellydance is practiced in bare feet. Please come in loose comfortable clothing in which you can move freely. If you want to wear a flowing skirt and have any scarves that can be used to emphasise the size of your hips, then please feel free to bring these, but many beginners feel happiest in leggings and t-shirt. There will be plenty of opportunity to purchase music, props and costumes as you get more confident.

Classical classes mainly use choreography to teach all different styles of BellyDance from many areas of the middle east. Tribal BellyDance is a modern interpretation of this ancient dance form, where simple hypnotic moves are practiced over and over again until the dancer is confident in using them to dance and try to capture the feel of ancient women dancing together for the joy of the dance. Both styles are suitable for complete beginners at Level 1 - Why not try both classes and see which suits, or really give yourself the chance to grow in strength and flexibility.

Classes are run in 6 week courses and cost £45.00 per course. When courses are reduced to 5 weeks because of school holidays, the cost is £35. Classes are popular and spaces are limited. To guarantee a place it is necessary to book and pay in advance. You may turn up and pay on week 1 but if the class is full you will not get a place. We operate a waiting list for over subscribed classes.

You may prefer to spread the cost of your courses by taking up Barefoot membership at a cost of £35 per month paid by direct debit. Over a year if you attend 2 classes a week this option will give you a reduction of £72 and as a bonus will also allow you to attend as many classes as you wish at no extra cost as long as you book your place in advance. Please contact Barefoot Studios 07815 785779 for further details on how to take up this option or for any information regarding booking classes.
